![]() He constantly came back to this number and why this play style is better than standard (I believe that was the name) because the regular way of playing MTG was dropping about $600 every few months on new cards. His first and most reiterated point was that a deck was ONLY going to cost me about $2,000. He ended up going on a fairly long lecture, long enough I felt like I should have paid admission, about getting into decks. I ended up asking him about when I can expect to pay for a basic deck, what is the best way to get cards (boosters, deck building kits, buying singles, etc.) and a few more things. I ended up going to my local comic store and wanted to talk to the man who runs the store because I know he plays and I know his store is one of the more popular, if not the most popular, in my area. I was looking to play some kitchen table MTG. I don't want a meta deck that destroys people in one turn. I don't really plan on attending many FNM or going to big championship games. ![]() Over and over again I hear this and it kind of made me hesitate about jumping right in. Well, I finally have some time, cash, and willing friends by my side and I decided I'd try to dive into this rabbit hole of a card game. I love the complexity and the strategy of it, but I never had time to get into it nor did I have people around me who wanted to play. MTG is something that I've been wanting to get into for awhile. r/magicTCG is not produced, endorsed, supported by, or affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
